Norway Grants–Funded Project for Digitisation and Automation of Production Processes at Vli Timber
Project Overview
UAB “VLI Timber” is currently implementing a project partially funded under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism Programme “Business Development, Innovation and SMEs” titled “Implementation of New Technological Solutions for the Digitisation and Automation of Production Processes at UAB VLI Timber”, Project No. LT07-1-EIM-K05-014 (hereinafter – the Project).
Operating since 2009, the company is the largest producer of kiln-dried firewood in Lithuania, with a mission to manufacture high-quality kiln-dried firewood for stoves and fireplaces.
Project Objectives
In order to increase the efficiency of production processes and labour productivity, UAB “VLI Timber” initiated this Project, under which new technological solutions for the digitisation and automation of production processes will be implemented.
The objective of the Project is to acquire and integrate into the production process:

an automated firewood cross-cutting and splitting line, and
-
a robotic palletising system for finished products.
The automation and digitisation of production processes will enable a significant increase in production efficiency and labour productivity.
Project Implementation

The equipment will be installed at a facility owned by UAB “VLI Timber” located at Gražiavietės g. 5, Kurklių II village, LT-29236 Anykščiai district.
The equipment will be procured through a competitive tender from the equipment manufacturer or an official manufacturer’s representative.
Funding and Project Details
The Project is implemented using funds from the 2014–2021 Norwegian Financial Mechanism and the state budget of the Republic of Lithuania.
